System Role
A new step during the installation of SUSE Linux allows to quickly adjust several settings proposed for the installation:
Default System - Nothing is modified compared to plain installation
KVM Virtualization Host - A system with KVM pattern, /home does not get a separate partition
Xen Virtualization Host - A system with Xen pattern, /home does not get a separate partition
Defining Roles
System Roles are defined in the control.xml file present in the root of the installation medium. See the control file documentation.
Availability and References
System Roles are implemented in yast2-installation-3.1.174, which will land in the upcoming SLES12-SP2.
They were requested in FATE#317481.
