  • 💡 What: Converted large PNG/JPG assets to optimized WebP format, resized to near-display dimensions, and added explicit width/height attributes.
  • 🎯 Why: To reduce page load size and improve Core Web Vitals (LCP and CLS). The hero image alone was ~800KB.
  • 📊 Impact:
    • Total image size reduced by ~82% (~1.1MB -> ~0.2MB).
    • Home image reduced by 6.2x (792KB -> 127KB).
    • CLS score improved by reserving layout space for images.
  • 🔬 Measurement: Verified with Playwright script checking natural dimensions and successful loading. File sizes verified via ls.
