• Research Assistant in the SECHA (Scaling EV Charging Solutions for New Values and Services in Collaboration Networks) project, a €4M Business Finland Co-Innovation initiative coordinated by Tampere University in collaboration with VTT and LUT University. The project focuses on enabling scalable, intelligent, and interoperable EV charging ecosystems by integrating heterogeneous data sources across industrial and grid partners.

  My work focuses on EV charging data interoperability, where I contribute to designing and prototyping data integration frameworks that unify diverse partner systems into a coherent, scalable data platform. The role combines applied research and systems engineering, with an emphasis on energy-efficient data management, interoperability standards, and real-world data pipeline design within smart energy ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on EV charging data ecosystems, focusing on interoperability challenges across heterogeneous industrial and grid data sources.
• Analyze and map diverse data formats, schemas, and system architectures used by SECHA consortium partners, including companies and energy providers.
• Design and develop a proof-of-concept data pipeline to ingest, transform, and standardize EV charging data into a unified platform.

EduChat is an AI enhanced learning support system integrated into Tampere University's Plussa LMS. It combines a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline with an on premises Large Language Model (LLM) to deliver context aware assistance, conversational learning exercises and teacher oriented analytics.

Our team continued development on top of the existing EduChat codebase and delivered several major features during the Spring 2026 iteration. These included an improved Chat Exercise configuration workflow, the EduLens teacher dashboard with keyword analytics, public channel engagement metrics, a notification and email workflow, multi format file support, and multiple usability improvements across the system.

The project followed Scrum with six development sprints and a dedicated QA sprint. We expanded the automated test suite to around 500 test cases, improved frontend and backend stability, and ensured full integration with Plussa through LTI based authentication. The final system was deployed in the TUNI environment and validated through customer sprint reviews.
