Thanks @neutrinoceros, this LGTM. I didn't quite expect that you'd also switch over wheel builds, but it does make sense - those should be getting more reliable as well. However, wheel builds don't run in regular CI, so it's hard to tell if things work here. Did you run them on your fork to verify that it does?

Thanks! I reviewed those CI logs and the links in the lock file as best as I can, all seems to be in order. So let's give it a go and see if it helps make CI more stable.
