Resolved. main had a different .style-guide submodule pointer (6d080ef) from a previously merged style guide update. I merged main into this branch — git fast-forwarded the submodule to the newer commit (c50dea2, from style-guide PR #37) since it's a direct descendant. The merge commit is 1ed51ae.
