Added

• Auto-response macros (#364). Each macro has new optional Send on connect, Send on RX match (regex), and Send on interval (ms) triggers in its settings modal. RX matches test each finalised line from the wire (TX echo is ignored, so a macro can't loop on its own response); interval timers run only while the port is OPENED. V1 is ASCII-regex only; hex byte matching is a follow-up. Wiring: MacroController.onRxBytes fed from App.parseRxData, a connState reaction in App for connect/disconnect hooks, a per-macro MobX-driven setInterval map for interval timers, six new fields on Macro + MacroDataV1, seeded with defaults by the unreleased v18 migration.
• Regex highlight rules in a new Rules settings pane (renamed from Sounds). Each rule has a name, regex, case-sensitive toggle, background color, optional sound (none/ding/buzzer), and enabled flag. Matching characters get the rule's background painted inline in the terminal; sounds fire once per finalised row that matches. Two starter rules ship out of the box: Warning (orange) and Error (dark red + buzzer) — fresh installs get them via RulesSettingsData's field initializer, upgrades via the v17→v18 migration. Implemented via RulesSettings + HighlightRule model and HighlightMatch / highlightMatchesByRow computeds on SingleTerminal; rendering reuses the TerminalRow.getSpans extension that Find already plugs into.
• Highlight rules support an "Entire line" scope in addition to the default "Matched text only". When set to Entire line (incl. wraps), a matching line gets its full background painted across every wrap segment, so long log lines colour cleanly even when the terminal wraps them. New Highlight scope dropdown in the rule edit modal.
• Fake port "highlight rules demo" that emits a randomised mix of info/warning/error log lines (with some 250-char lines that wrap) for visually testing the new Rules feature.
• Find in scrollback (Ctrl+F). Floating bar over the terminal pane with case-toggle, match counter, and prev/next nav (Enter / Shift+Enter, Esc closes). Also discoverable via a magnifying-glass icon in each pane's top-right (next to the copy-all button) — per-pane so in separate TX/RX mode each terminal has its own button and its own independent Find session. Matches are highlighted in-place via two new CSS classes; current match is auto-scrolled into view, overriding scroll-lock while find is open. SingleTerminalView's selection-restore logic is skipped while the Find input has focus so incoming RX traffic can't yank the caret out via setBaseAndExtent; FindBar clicks are also excluded from the mouseup selection-cache path. Implemented in SingleTerminal.findMatches, FindBar.tsx, and TerminalRow.getSpans.
• TX Settings: opt out of Ctrl+F → Find. New Use Ctrl+F to open Find in scrollback checkbox (default on). When off, Ctrl+F falls through to the Ctrl+A–Z handler so the ACK control byte (0x06) reaches the device — preserves the historic terminal behavior some embedded targets rely on. The per-pane Find magnifier buttons keep working either way. AppData migrated v16 → v17.

Changed

• UI primary switched from MUI-default blue to muted teal #5eead4. Complementary opposite of the logo red; set in createTheme in AppView.tsx. Graphing's "Update X/Y Range From Data" buttons also flipped from color="success" to color="primary".
• Terminal keystrokes no longer require clicking the pane first. Typing routes to the active terminal whenever the terminal pane is shown and no input field has focus — dropped isFocused/isFocusable state, the red focus glow, and the hollow-cursor style; RX in split mode no longer renders a cursor.
• Settings sidebar refresh. Icons, grouped subheaders (Communication / Appearance / Application), and a teal-tinted rounded selected chip; SettingsView.tsx is now driven from a groups array.
• Tagline + homepage copy refreshed for four-transport scope (serial, TCP socket, Bluetooth LE, SEGGER RTT). Tagline now "An embedded developer's terminal that's got your back."; homepage hero, browser titles, Docusaurus site tagline, manual intro, README, <Layout> SEO description, JSON-LD structured-data description/keywords, root index.html meta description, and the body intro paragraph no longer describe NinjaTerm as a serial port terminal.
• Homepage and /app redirect-page browser titles no longer say "NinjaTerm" twice. Docusaurus auto-appends | NinjaTerm from siteConfig.title, so the per-page Layout titles now omit the brand prefix (homepage tab is now An embedded developer's terminal that's got your back | NinjaTerm).

Removed

• Old pass/fail sounds toggle (playSoundsOnPassFail) is gone. The byte-streaming buffer that matched literal "pass" / "fail" is replaced by the regex highlight rules above. AppData migration v17→v18 strips the legacy field; users who relied on the toggle re-create it as two explicit rules.

Fixed

• Failed RTT connect attempts no longer multiply log lines on retry. The rtt:server-log listener is registered before rtt.connect() to capture startup messages; the catch block didn't dispose it on failure, so each retry stacked another listener and each line was emitted N times after N failures. ConnController now calls disposeConnListeners() in the RTT failure path.
