This Fluid Bi-weekly Meeting focused on the latest progress of Fluid in cloud-native data acceleration and its production practices in AI training and inference scenarios. The session covered recent technical developments including dynamic dataset mounting, model prefetching, the Generic Cache Runtime, and distributed KV Cache acceleration. Performance results showed that Fluid significantly reduced large-model loading time and improved inference latency and throughput. China Merchants Bank also shared its production deployment experience, including high-performance storage integration, RDMA and ARM support, and optimizations for large-scale model loading. In practice, the solution improved model cold-start speed by over 50%, increased concurrent model-fetch throughput by more than 10×, and raised average AI accelerator utilization by over 30%. The ACK One Fleet team presents ModelDistribution, a solution built on Fluid that unifies model delivery, cross-region sync, and cache pre-warming into a single orchestrated pipeline. By decoupling model distribution from pod scheduling, it ensures models are pre-warmed and ready where needed, effectively resolving the “slow loading, hard distribution, version chaos” bottleneck. With the development of the Fluid community, ThinRuntime has been introduced and matured as a lightweight, pluggable runtime extension mechanism. It offers significant advantages in operational convenience, integration complexity, and code size. Therefore, we plan to replace the GooseFSRuntime module with ThinRuntime.
