Some cleanup of tests & adding schema v1 test data

Description

A bit of a grab bag of testing updates and cleanup. A lot of changes to lots of files, but nothing significant in terms of functionality.

• Removes some useless tests
• Adds generation of errors and plain schema v1 data
• Modifies how tests of records are done to include fetching missing data from server
• Tweak to the error message introduced in Improve errors for exporting to qcschema with missing data #988

Status
