Android App - Articles fail to load

I have Wallabag running alongside tailscale, and I am able to connect my phone to the server without issue when using Chrome.

However, when using the Android App, the articles fail to load.

After keying in my credentials, it passes 'testing api', and returns to the main window. I can see the blue progress bar right below the hamburger button start moving, but it stops shortly after, just to the right of the hamburger button itself. After that, nothing happens

any thoughts?
