did you get it to work using the image plus some modifications? (e.g. building the driver as described in your second link)

We're looking to buy a V4 too and would like to know your experience this past year.

Well I didn't try using the image. I applied all installation instructions I found on the internet to get a OGN receiver going. Such as on: http://wiki.glidernet.org/ogn-receiver-hardware-and-software#receiver-software-installation and combined this with building the driver as in the second link. It worked but I haven't documented it. Sorry. V4 does receive more/better than V3 in my experience both in combination with a Uputronics Filtered Preamp. I saw this recent installation instruction: https://chochol.io/en/hardware/ogn-receiver-installation-and-configuration-on-raspberry-pi/ I haven't tried it and don't know if it works with V4. You can always build the driver yourself as in the second link. Good luck.
