rememberRetained vs Compose retain #2748

What is the difference between rememberRetained and Compose retain? They seem quite similar. My hunch is that since Circuit provides its own navigation solution, retain would not remember a value across the back stack. Is that accurate? |

If you read their announcement they credit Circuit :). It's essentially an upstreaming of a bunch of circuit retained, but it's not quite covered everything we cover yet. It does make some platform changes that we obviously had to work around in the past. |

To your second question - circuit retains values across the back stack if you use its retained impl. We've not sought to build out support for the first party one yet because it's not covered everything circuit needs, though admittedly we've not had time to write those up either yet. |
