How to run as root user?

I am trying to start the container as the root user. How to do it?

Dockerfile

FROM ...
USER root

Logs

 [13-May-2025 20:26:56] ALERT: [pool www] user has not been defined
[13-May-2025 20:26:56] ERROR: failed to post process the configuration

Try this:

FROM ...
USER root
RUN echo "user = www-data" >> /usr/local/etc/php-fpm.d/docker-php-serversideup-pool.conf && \
    echo "group = www-data" >> /usr/local/etc/php-fpm.d/docker-php-serversideup-pool.conf

FPM needs a user other than root when you start it.

Actually, a line break was needed; otherwise, it fails to start up.

RUN echo "\nuser = www-data" >> /usr/local/etc/php-fpm.d/docker-php-serversideup-pool.conf && \
    echo "\ngroup = www-data" >> /usr/local/etc/php-fpm.d/docker-php-serversideup-pool.conf
