Adding auth-user-pass ----> hangs on: "Building configuration..."

Android 13 ics-openvpn 0.7.64

While trying to add auth-user-pass (from advanced/custom options) to manage OTP/2FA to a working configuration based on private key with password (saved), I have found that as soon as I try to connect it produces the message "Building configuration..." and hangs there forever.

On the server side there is a process that reads the password field of auth to check the OTP code

Syntax, end of lines etc... checked.

Maybe I'm missing something?
Is there any working example or docs for this setup?
Best result would be to show only a dialog like "Enter OTP", no idea if this could be managed.

On the ics-openvpn gui how is managed the user auth dialog?

Please do not add as custom options. Use the builtin user/pass in the first tab of the VPN settings.

From the perspective of a progressive deployment of 2FA, are there any options to apply it without changes on the client side?
The option "static-challenge" could be applied for this and does it works with ics-openvpn?

not sure if static-challenge works with my client. The modern dynamic CR_TEXT/crtext auth pending dynamic 2FA works with my client.
