Dear Carsten and Joseph,
As the development of multi-cores CPU (32, 48, 96 cores) and many-cores GPU, as well as considerring the limited researchers and engineers in China use HPC cluster or even Unix OS, I strived to build and use SCHISM in Windows (compiling with Visual Studio 2022 + Intel OneAPI 2025 Fortran compiler ifx) to implement my river or coastal modelling work.
Recently I built SCHISM-PDAF-ESMF project, I thought this crazy, but I achieved it. Although I can only build ESMF-8.0.1 because ESMF-8.1.0 and newer versions changed obviously, and I succeed to run the example codes using ESMF-8.0.1.
Now I succeed to build the executable schism-esmf-pdaf.exe using the source codes including ESMF_v8.0.1, PDAF_V2.3.1, SCHISM_v5.13.0, METIS_v5.1.0 an ParMETIS_v4.3.0, schism-esmf_v0.3.1. But I found that the examples in schism-esmf-0.3.1 package was old, could you please send me the testing data in GMD-paper Yu HaoCheng, et al. 2025 to test my running?
By the way, I also build PESTc_v3.23.0, Amgx_v2.3.0, AmgXWrapper-1.6.2 and amgx-c-wrapper succefully. All the buildings are implemented in Windows OS. Referring the GPU acceleration codes from SHYFEM, I integrated it with SCHISM_v5.13.0, and can run in Windows OS using CUDA. But I'm not familiar with the Open Source License limitation issues and don't know how to test the code in Linux OS, how to merge the code with SCHISM in github. Could you guide me? It's also difficult to access github in China because the network safety management and control policy.
Thanks and Happy New Year,
Li Jian
