The major long-term plan is to modernize Ringo to switch to a REST-like API. Ringo is still a old fashioned application framework. Almost everything is done on the server with server roundtrips. Only very few things uses a REST like API. The plan is make everything avaiable through a REST API which is needed to build modern client server webapplications. However the webinterface should be also availabe. Ideally the web interface is only a wrapper around the REST API.
