How to install in nix?

I read the README regarding nix install, it says

NOTE: Currently there is an issue with release process causing commit with version tag to have mismatched hash. Please use next commit which updates the hash in following format: github:project-gauntlet/gauntlet/<commit_hash>

I dont really understand what this means?

Things I tried:
'/fd01fa2'
'?ref=refs/tags/v12'

I'm probably doing something wrong but don't understand what.

Seem to work, compiling right now.
Have you not setup cachix?

and how does this commit work, whats the bug exactly?

Flake was contributed and I do not use nix myself so do not have needed knowledge, but people are working on contributing it to nixpkgs, which I assume is similar: NixOS/nixpkgs#364534

As described in that note, there is an issue with release process which modifies package-lock.json file causing mismatched hash even though it was ok just before release workflow was started. That commit is a commit directly after v12 tag which fixes mismatched hash.

This issue has already been fixed on main so after next release there shouldn't be an issue with using version tag directly
