DevOps Status Update

• Greg
  • Whisper packaging, crowdin, continued work on submodules
• Rute
  • Spring security 5 work
    • OC 15~16, targetting Spring 5
      • Spring 6 upgrade is far more complex to attain
      • Spring 5 resolves most of the security issues in play
      • Almost done, working -> Heading to internal DCE QA
        • CAS, JWT, LTI 1.1 functional
        • The rest are untested -> Need community involvement here

  • Apache Camel has seen partial success
    • Not actually running, likely not the right framework for us at this point
  • Alternatives: Spring Boot, open liberty, Quarkus

• Admin translations (Greg)
  • We lost a whole bunch, seemingly with 79bf416ad245da112fa7f27e7e8c0f4a80f65bf8
  • I can push the old translations back up but...
    • They're old -> have old source keys
      • Missing some current keys
      • Still contain some old (removed) ones
    • Does anyone know if this is safe to do?
  • Crowdin, long term
    • not used for Studio, Tobira
      • Tobira has way to immediately see translation effect in UI: https://translation-helper.tobira.opencast.org/
    • Disadvantages: No context for translation, difficulty with our branching modell, old translation keys keep lingering, not easy to create new projects (have to beg), ...
    • Advantages: Better for non-technical people, translation suggestions
    • But then we have to keep translation keys consistent between languages -> scripting
