Will it be discontinued + new maintainer

Hello everyone.
I already released an issue about this, but here I am anyways.

As Mojang is porting the game to Vulkan, I saw a screenshot of IMS declaring that it might be discontinued.

If ever it is, I'd like to be the new maintainer/lead for IRIS for compatibility. And cause it's an awesome project.

Iris is getting discontinued on purpose, due to aperture being far superior. Continuing the project would discourage devs from switching and make aperture seem obsolete.

To answer the question made on the issue post, the triage team doesn't have the most time to deal with all 500+ issues (I should know, I'm a member of it :P) hence why they just seem open and ignored.

While i appreciate the gesture, we are doing things just fine as is and if something new ever does come up, I'll send you an email.

I didn't dig up for long but I didn't find it. Maybe you can ask on the Iris discord.

I'm not going to continue Iris, no. I just want to add small optimizations, and fix the easiest bugs. I could even mark it as Obsolete in the readme. It's basic support for versions < Vulkan.

As I said, I'm gonna close the issue reporting, and fix most of them myself if I manage to.

I will be the only developer here if you accept. I prefer people to work with Aperture rather than the leagecy Iris. I got no experience with Vulkan, otherwise I'd be happy to help.
Of course, im open to PRs.

Also, how will a completely different mod with another graphics API seem obsolete, as the whole minecraft community knows the switch?

Also, is there any link for Aperture? I only find portal gun mods.

So... Yeah, I'd be really happy to maintain this project for about a couple years, or more.

I do not plan to add any maintainers to Iris to continue maintaining it. I will accept PR’s to fix issues in releases already made.
