Planning YAPEX — Open Rocket Communication Platform | Looking for Suggestions

Hi everyone,

We are currently planning a new open-source project under DynamiX-Labs called YAPEX.

The goal is to build a platform-independent communication system for rocket avionics, similar in spirit to how MAVLink supports drones.

Current Idea

YAPEX may support communication between:

• Flight computers
• Sensor modules
• Telemetry radios
• Ground stations
• Recovery systems
• Test benches

Planned Focus Areas

• Lightweight binary protocol
• Cross-platform hardware support
• Real-time telemetry
• Event/state messaging
• Python / C++ tooling
• Logging and post-flight analysis
