Handling null when printing an error.

Hello All,

I am running the 27.2.0 version of the news app. I noticed some of my feeds stopped updating & reviewed the logs to see what was up. I was seeing a variation on the log message at the bottom every time an update should have occurred.

I believe that a crash occurs and it stops the updater from updating additional feeds; until the next iteration when it again crashes. Ideally, I'd only have good feeds, or parsing the feed would raise an exception. However, dying when printing a message is a little overkill. What do you think about a quick check to be on the safe side?
