Conditionally set the resource exposure policy

Looking into the possibility of conditionally setting the resource exposure policy in the app.json, any ideas?

Would prefer to not have to pre-process our app manifests before compilation.

Hi @mazhelez, good question, I was asking to solve X via Y 😄

The root problem we want to adres is that we have one partner that's using our AppSource app in an OnPrem environment, and we want to let them debug with the runtime packages we deliver.
To my understanding, the way to do this is to have everything set to false by default, and manually recompile with the necessary resource exposure policy when generating a version for on-premises.

We'd prefer to have this done automatically, for example through build modes with AL-Go.
But I may be missing a piece of the puzzle that makes this all way easier.

Build modes feature could do that for you.
I don't think you can have conditional directives in the app.json, as it is metadata, but you can use the PreCompileApps.ps1 override to swap the app.json to the one that you want to use for building the onprem version.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did try directives, but those don't work in the app manifests.
I'll be trying out build modes when I have some downtime.
