wp:post_date instead of pubDate?

I guess this is a question and also a feature request: I have a single XML export where the timestamp in wp:post_date are correct but for half the posts the one in pubDate is not. It would be nice to be able to specify on the command line which date field to use.

Meanwhile, were I to install this locally, would it be as simple as replacing pubDate in parser.js or would it be more complicated than that?
