link in notification is cut off

i don't know if its a problem of cinnamon or the underlying libnotify or in pidgin (or in gaim-libnotify which seems to be very old without changes maybe pidgin should look for a newer one?).
(a bit problematic to find the right place for the problem to report right?)

but when someone did post a long link like to a gist in pidgin
and i got a notification in cinnamon about of it.

then i try to click on the link shown in the notification,
but i got at the wrong place because the link got cut off end it does end with "..."

this might be related to #2416

I recently tested it with newest Cinnamon nightly and i still got the problem with pidgin notifications.

Using oder Desktop like Gnome or Unity doesn't show that problem.

This is still an issue with Cinnamon 5.6.8 (Mint Linux 21.1). The notification@cinnamon.org applet show long links cut off like "longlink...". Unfortunately clicking the link opens the cut link instead of the full URL.
