Sound Master control Google Maps?

I'm asking because I don't want to be doing something wrong in setup or operation that would be causing this. It seems that SoundMaster is unable to control the volume for Google Maps going to my Bluetooth speaker. When I have a slider for Maps all audio from Google Maps is cut off completely. Other audio from other apps plays just fine however. User error? Or system override because they can?

I will be sad if it turns out that Maps audio can't be affected because it's way too loud even with the settings set to low within the app. I am seeking an app that can help me address that.

By default, soundmaster ignores navigation related audio because they don't always behave in a predictable manner.

But there is something you could try -
Tap 6-7 times on the app title in homepage.
A debug page should appear. Under the soundmaster section, should be an option "control scope".
You can try increasing the value by 1 or 2, then restart Soundmaster and check.
This increase means soundmaster will try to control more types of audio sources, at a cost of stability. If soundmaster breaks, restore the original value (or just clear app data)

I assume this requires a DEV version of your app, which I don't have and cannot locate. Do you have a link? The tapping has no effect on the stable version I have.
