Is it okay to continue using JKS?

keytool prints this message after successful .jks keystore generation:

Warning:
The JKS keystore uses a proprietary format. It is recommended to migrate to PKCS12 which is an industry standard format using "keytool -importkeystore -srckeystore companion_tst.jks -destkeystore companion_tst.jks -deststoretype pkcs12".

Does Android/Play Store recommend to migrating to PKCS12? Should we just ignore it?
