Teamgram https://github.com/teamgram/teamgram-server is an implementation to self-host a Telegram server. Currently the clients are only lightly modified official clients where one's own server has to be set in the source code and then compile the clients yourself.

A GUI option to set your own server address.

I don't think there's an alternative to adopt Teamgram support or not.
