[bug]: Create board creates the board but returns 500

What happened

Have F12 open to view network traffic.

Click the "+" in the UI on the Boards tab to create a board.

Notice that:

http://127.0.0.1:9090/api/v1/boards/?board_name=My+Board

Results in this:

HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error

What you expected to happen

No 500 error. I think this worked in 6.10

Note that the UI ignores this error, and the board is still created.
