Renaming layer does not rename its internal name

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Create new layer
2. rename the layer
3. see that internal name is not the same

Expected behavior
rename internal name for layer

Your observation is correct. It is not a bug though - it is the expected behavior. The internal name can only be set on creation. Afterwards only the display name can be changed.
