[FR]: Use a framework for a portable release. #158

Description

Description

Use PortableApps.com or PortApps framework to make a portable release.

Who's implementing?

  • I'm willing to implement this feature myself

The problem

We're aware Chromium-based browsers cannot be 100% portable due to the way some things work, such as the account-credentials saved, extensions & so on.

However for some as me, we don't mind that that much, if not saying that we see these more as a security-feature than an issue.

But one of the main reasons we like to use these frameworks are because everything is contained within the "install" folder & not spread "randomly" across all the OS.

Possible solutions

As stated in the description, it'll be nice to have a portable release using one of such frameworks.

I really hope you consider this, the easiest framework to work with would be the PortApps one, Floorp Browser decided to use this & they implemented an auto-updater at every launch of the program, so that may work for you.

Other option would be to ask & give permission to @crazy-max, the creator of the PortApps framework, to make the release for you.
