Recommendations for form input handling

I've spotted #1439 so its clear there isn't a dedicated solution for form fields at the moment.

What I'm asking here is what combination of existing components in Bits would you recommend for showing form validations next to my handcrafted inputs?

One approach I am considering is using the <Popover> component, but I noticed that trying to hook this into the <input> handlers (onfocus / onblur) so that validation would render on focus is tricky because, even if you disable the focus trap.
