Describe the bug

This is a continuation of #2394. I've had the companion app open on its own twice in the last day.

To Reproduce

I'm not sure yet. None of my previous reproduction steps from #2394 (comment) trigger it.

Expected behavior

The app doesn't open in the middle of an important presentation, giving the user a mild heart attack until they realize that at least it's only open on the secondary display 😄 .

I also am experiencing this same issue. It appears to be tied to the Mac application receiving a notification with a message of clear_notification.

I tried to replicate by firing a notification and clearing it, with no luck. @hbludworth do you have an example that does?
