Updating the test framework?

Hi 👋

This repo is using mocha, which, from what I understand is starting to be a bit dated?

Any thoughts about moving to more modern test framework? Maybe built-in test runner?

As a relative JS/TS noob, I'm hoping it makes the integration with the IDE easier (more features, better supported VSCode extensions, etc...)
