In docsy v0.13.0, the sidebar height is incorrect and the scrollbar sticks out

• OS: macOS

Problem

In docsy v0.13.0, the sidebar height is incorrect and the scrollbar sticks out.
This issue does not occur in docsy v0.12.0.

Disabling height style solves this issue.

Root cause analysis

Firstly, I confirm that the problem was not present in 0.12.0, see: https://web.archive.org/web/20250702230303/https://www.docsy.dev/docs/best-practices/.

Here are the relevant HTML elements:

aside.td-sidebar
  div.td-sidebar__inner
    nav.td-sidebar-nav

The major rework to the sidenavs was done in 2023 via:

• Fix left-nav height and padding #1661

About six months before 0.13.0 was released

• Show close icon when hamburger menu is open #2301

removed padding-bottom: 1rem from .td-sidebar.

This helped surface a bug in the CSS code, which, I believe, is due to height/max-height being computed for two parent-child related elements:

• div.td-sidebar__inner: height: calc(100vh - 5rem);
• nav.td-sidebar-nav: max-height whose value depends on the presence or not of the sidebar search element

Solution

As @tekezo correctly points out, we don't need the height computation of div.td-sidebar__inner. It is enough for .td-sidebar-nav to know its required max-height.
