Why should this be included in the repository?

It is a new database client / workspace that has been gaining traction. It also allows users to us LLM if they wish through it, but does not have AI itself. It is a solid alternative to more corporate tools like Navicat.

They have an AppImage, but it has issues due to their older embedded graphic stack on rolling distros for the AppImage.

Are we allowed to redistribute it?

What kind of user will use this package, and how many users do you think will use this package?

Users that work with databases for work in a corporate environment and would like to not use the proprietary clients like Navicat.

The concern I have is that this is a young project. It only started in January. It has gained traction pretty quickly and activity is steady. I was actually trying to help another Solus user who is using their AppImage version as it does not work on Solus due to the older LTS graphic drivers they have on the AppImage mixing with our newer distro side drivers.

I am not saying no, but would like to get other team members thoughts first as well. It does use AI in its dev, but seems to have 3 main devs that are doing most of the commits.

I understand the caution especially with all the slop out there. The main dev does say up front they used AI for the initial scaffolding and framework and went from there. Looking at their commits it seems to have some AI in it, but mainly PRs by actual devs.

Main reason I wanted it as I am trying to rid myself of Navicat and other closed source. I tried their AppImage and yeah it doesn't work on any rolling release. Hopefully it will look good enough to be allowed, but I understand if not.

I'm personally investigating the issue, and it seems to be related to a recent Tauri update.

There's a long discussion about it here: tauri-apps/tauri#12491. I actually took part in that discussion in the past. The issue had been resolved for a while, but I now want to dig deeper into the recent developments around Tauri to understand what changed.

I find your project very interesting, and I'd be happy if my software became one of your packages.

As for AI, I've been a software developer for 15 years. I'm not a vibe coder, but over the past year I've been embracing agentic programming quite heavily, using a human-in-the-loop approach.

I understand where some of those concerns come from: in fact, I'm strongly against vibe coding myself. That said, I'm very much in favor of AI-assisted development. I see AI as a tool to amplify a developer's capabilities, not as a replacement for engineering judgment or experience.
