Is it possible to export WebM with transparency?

I tried it and could not create a .webm video file with transparency (for use on OBS and similar...)
Is it possible? how?

If not I guess the other option is to create a PNG image sequence...

I don't use webm, so don't know (but it should). If you want alpha in a video use ProRes (unless you target web).

Works here, select libvpx-vp9 as codec and yuva420p as pixel format.

I still recommend using ProRes.

No, just that ProRes is a better format in general :) (and has better compatibility in apps) For transparent video on the web your only option is of course webm.

Well, the project sets in the middle as it's for an event streaming that I'm doing with OBS so all assets need transparency. I can both use ProRes or WebM but I don't need much quality so there is no need to use the big files ProRes do...

Now I'm struggling with the final WebM renders: if the video is long it gets stuck at 99% and Friction crashes... I'm still testing and experimenting

Newbie question:
I understand that yuva420 is a pixel format that allows (background) transparency.
Why when selecting Format=MP4 (MPEG-4 Part14), Codec=libx265 H.265 / HEVC, there is no choice for yuva420 for pixel format ?

Alpha is only available for ProRes (MOV) and WebM.

btw, noticed a premult/unpremult issue with WebM, this must be fixed. We should also introduce a new profile for WebM.
