Improve test cases #2
Description
I really want to build up a solid test suite to build confidence in this package.
The testing is setup, but for whatever reason I am having a creative block around what test cases to actually include that led to this library existing in the first place. We've adopted this library so fast internally that the previous pain points have all been iterated out already.
