linux 64 bit should be the assumed build machine

it should be able to cross compile everything apart from the os x binaries. If we could crack that build, then we wouldn't need to jump between machines during a release at all (and everybody on other platforms could use a virtual machine to do the build).

Or use docker / virtual machine orchestration. A lot than changed in the last few years.
