Hello together,
First of all, I am starting out in FDS Simulations and I'm thankful that there is a FDS community that provides helpful information. I am currently studying the smoke spread and temperature distribution from open flames inside inclined tunnels. In the model I am running, I have not set up any monitoring points yet.
Could this lead to the stated Error? (I typed in some paragraphs to make it more visible)


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The error messages are from the MPI data exchange routines. Make sure you have enough computing resources for this simulation. At 12 million grid cells this is going to require 10s of GB or available RAM. If you have sufficient RAM, then would suggest trying this with the current release of FDS. There was an overhaul of the MPI exchanges in late 2024 (FDS 6.9.1 was early 2024).

Could it be that this error is caused by numerical instability or mesh issues?

It is not an instability error. It is an error in the MPI data passing. Please verify you have adequate computational resources and then try with the current release and see if your case runs,
