Hello @jamespel1<https://github.com/jamespel1> !
The messages you have copied here are not related to your issue. This is juste the list of all messages that the blueprint could send.
You will need to attach your whole trace.
Here is a tutorial : https://github.com/etiennec78/Home-Automation/issues (select Blueprint and read the "Logs" part)

Hello ! Thanks ! |
|
Attached is my trace from today. |
|
Thank you for the file. I see that you have enabled "🧭 Confirm the location on startup" and have selected "GPS". In your case, your iPhone does not send back its location when asked ! And it still does not work, simply disable this blueprint feature. Please let me know if this tutorial worked for you, so I can link it in the docs. |
|
Hello, It has been a while since I heard from you. Did you find a way to fix your GPS since then ? |
|
No. I have been trying various things but it continues to no open the gate and the trace is confusing. I have just about given up. Can you send me a link so I can deposit the trace?

You can directly upload your file in this discussion on GitHub. Do you still have the same error about your GPS in your notifications ? |

Thank you for your logs !
From which integrations do your trackers come from ? |

Hello @jamespel1 👋 It should add a working support for the feature I have suggested you to turn on in the message above. Thanks ! |

I downloaded this version you linked me to and when I try to save a new automation from the blueprint I get the following error when trying to save the automation.

Thanks for removing the file. If I upload a trace, what should I remove to preserve sensitive info?

Thanks for your trace.
As you said, this one only contains data of when you left your home.
I don't know why your return did not trigger the automation, but don't hesitate to give me feedback the next time you drive.
By the way, you have linked a sensitive file. I made sure to remove it.

You have joined a document named "Scan.-.ECG.12-LEAD.-.Jun.4.2025.3.TIF", that I have removed. There were no real sensitive data in your last trace however (no GPS coordinates). In all cases, I always remove traces from your messages after I download them. |

Hello Mike, |
|
No. I have been trying different things and was about to give up on it. I can try to post my latest trace but it is quite confusing about what the true error is. So far it seems the garage door will close on exit sometimes but has never opened when I arrive. I am going to try to see if there are some issues with the start up when driving from a location away from home to arrive. Maybe the routine for car play is not properly kicking off when I begin my trip.

That's strange, I've had iPhone owners tell me that the Apple Shortcut triggers were working well for them. And by the way, I'm currently working on a branch to make the closing on exit more reliable for iCloud3. |
|
Cell service is extremely weak at my home but gets stronger within half a mile from my home. When I first start the car I am still on the home network but lose signal after about 30 feet then regain it within half a mile. I will try some testing today to manually set the CarPlay toggle to on when I start up driving away and back to home again after a stop at a store, about 2 miles away.

Maybe you could try using a Bluetooth trigger instead ?
Also, are you sure that your iPhone has cell service where you start your vehicle ?

I'm waiting on your validation of the branch I sent you to merge both of them.

Trace 8-13_redacted.json |
|
Could you please send your previous trace ? I need the trace of the one triggered by your driving sensor turning on. |
|
Let me do some testing again tomorrow. Today the garage door actually both closed when I was leaving, as desired, and opened when I returned! I will try some more testing to see if it is working. The one thing that changed most recently is my startup helper using Bluetooth. I placed the startup toggle in my favorites so I could monitor it. It was automatic when I started the trip and closed the garage door within a few minutes of leaving. I noticed when I started my return trip after a stop at the grocery store the toggle did not seem to be enabled so I manually enabled it and when I arrived home the garage door was opened for me about a minute before I arrived.

This one only contain results from your config checker, as it was generated after you changed some inputs (or restarted Home Assistant, or enabled back the automation).
