Description of problem

Often tenders request a cms that assists editors to review their content. Especially when a site has hundreds of pages, it is very easy to forget that you wrote an article that is relevant until last year.

Description of solution

What would solve this problem is to have a checkbox 'remind me' where you can select a user and a date. On that date, an email generated to the email address of that user incorporating the link saying "As per your request we remind you that you might want to check the content of the following page".

The place for this would be the module settings. This way, the option applies to all modules, not just HTML.

Additional context

Maybe a seperate issue but the next thing would be to have an overview with 4 columns:
Page name - Module name - review date - email address, sorted by review date.
The place for this would be the Content part in the Persona bar (IMO)

thank you for the idea, but this would not properly fit to page settings - if you consider blog or article modules, where this would needed to be applied on item level, while others would need this on module level. The proper object to attach this would be the DNN "ContentItem" and a new module interface but this would require module developers to implement this interface within their modules

I can imagine that technically, you'd want it that way. As long as I am able to manage the date and the email address on a spot that makes sense to me as a content manager, I'm a happy camper :-)

Hey guys, I am trying to cleanup the backlog and move discussions into the forums and keep only actionable issues that we can assign some foreseeable milestone here on github. So the quesiton is: Is anyone planning on developing this idea, if so what would be a reasonable delivery milestone (Dnn 10, Dnn 11) ? If nobody plans on actually implementing this, then I would suggest moving this to the forums to keep the backlog cleaner.

@sleupold is there a way to move this forward? I mean, I can relate to the remark it should be on content item. Could it be an option to have a hook on contentItem level and the UI as described in the HTML module?

I am kind of leaning on the same opinion as @sleupold where this should be left to the actual module implementation and not a general setting enough of the overall Dnn module settings since the scope of this could vary widely by module purpose...

Yes, I would see that more appropriate IMO.

there are plans to improve workflow within DNN platform.
However, IMO, the benefit of a workflow is much higher for a list of contributions (like Blog, Announcements, News) than a singleton like HML

The common usecase I have in mind is regular content on sites of insitutions. Their content needs to be reviewed periodically. If your are responsible for the correctness of content this is a musthave. Yes, it would be great inarticles etc as well but that would be for other repos and vendors. Soooo, do we keep this issue because that would be part of the HTML module or we close this in favor of another issue at https://github.com/DNN-Connect/CKEditorProvider because it would fall under the provider ?

I don't think it would be a CKeditor issue.
If I combine my wish and the feedback from @sleupold, I would envision a generic solution. In that respect it would be functionality that can or can not be utilized by a module.
Also important, this way it can be utilized by vendors as well.

On order to get this 1 step further: would it be on the level of 'my work' or somewhere in the settingstab?
