Any chance of adding serial printing?

I have a POS machine with a built in star thermal printer.

It internally connects via serial. Is there any chance of having this work? I want to use the server option so I can print to it from my home automation

Well, I don't know, I never saw anything serial in the Android world and without such a device at hand, I couldn't even say. Even if it's internal, is it really old fashioned serial, not USB? It would be very strange.

It is definitely plain serial. Information on the terminal I have is here https://github.com/netguycode/citaq

The printer is connected to /dev/ttyS1, would it not be much different from using /dev/ttyUSBx?
