How to stop notifications for muted Telegram channels/groups?

I don't know if I'm missing something, but is there a way to stop notifications for muted Telegram channels/groups?

It was working fine, but today after updating to the latest version, I'm receiving notifications.

This has happened before, so I entered in channels/groups, unmuted them, and then muted again. This stopped it.

But this time, even after doing this, the notification continues.

In short: what do I have to do to stop receiving notifications from certain Telegram channels? Isn't it enough to just mute them in the Telegram mobile app?

Setting muted_notify_unread=0 in ~/.config/nchat/ui.conf should prevent new messages in muted chats from showing notifications, and it should be sufficient to mark a chat as muted in the Telegram mobile app once (assuming not Mute for ... some duration).

Could you check if nchat detects the chat as muted? I.e. in the chat status bar is the group name followed by the text (muted) (like in the below screenshot)?

muted_notify_unread=0 was already set to 0.

Yes, it displays the (muted) indicator.

However, I just realized it only displays in groups.
It doesn't display in channels. And it's the channels that are notifying.
The groups are fine.

Is that it? Is it only working in groups?

So the channel in question is muted in the Telegram Mobile App, but nchat does not show the (muted) indicator for that channel?

FWIW muting channels in the mobile app - for example https://t.me/hacker_news_feed - reflects correctly in nchat for me with (muted) indicator.

I added this channel via telegram web and it was changed to muted on nchat.

So I redid the configuration of the other channels via Telegram web and now it's working on all of them.

I don't know what happened, but it seems that via Telegram mobile the changes were not being applied.

Either way, it's not something related to nchat.

I'm going to uninstall and install Telegram Mobile to see if it solves it.
