I would personally prefer to buy the physical cards because I don't have to keep paying rent each month.
But given that their model is that you need an Internet Connection to "load" each card onto the player ... 🙃

These cards on eBay are the exact same price as on the Yoto store (The Ladybird Audio collection is £24.99 on the UK site and €29.99 on the EU site) so there's no advantage buying from eBay because they do do promos on the cards occasionally.
I also checked on vinted and people are selling cards for almost the same price as new so also not worth it 🤷‍♀

Last Black Friday Yoto themselves had promos from 10-20% on all Yoto cards but 10% is usually the minimum promotion they do.

At the time I bought the cards I wanted to give the kids at Xmas/birthday and A2's Yoto player of course.
But I bought a few extra (because the 20% was conditional on x number of cards and also a rare deal) so I have these stashed upstairs for when we need some fresh stories:

The UK membership is actually WAY better than the EU membership because I would totally go for the £70 a year collector membership which doesn't exist in the EU:

The thing I like about the membership is that it also gives you access to a few member-only podcasts for kids and doesn't tie you to a few expensive cards - you can just try a whole bunch of things out. But the downside is that a lot of the titles aren't digital so we wouldn't have access to those anyway (which is why I like the UK collector one).

We could change our membership to the UK I guess if we wanted to do it.

But that's certainly part of the reason I opened this issue.

😆 OK, that's a different matter. I'm not but I also don't think we should discourage them from continuing to enjoy the ones they have at this point. My concern is that if we introduce more cards at our will rather than at their request (or when they show signs of tiring of the ones they have), then we're feeding into their propensity to become 'bored easily' and 'want new toys'.
Letting them exhaust the ones they have might be a better option in my view.

I won't die on this hill so if you want me to distribute some new cards, I will 👌

Why the need to be over dramatise this? 🤷‍♂️

You clearly either don’t spend enough time within earshot of the stories they listen to constantly or aren’t paying attention to them.

Our children are in their “Absorbent Mind” period.
We should be encouraging them to learn as much as possible, not confining them to a handful of cards for the sake of them not having too many.

With an Attic full of toys/materials collecting dust, I wish you would actually think about how much you’ve already spent and be mindful of the places where wise investment can pay huge dividends in terms of their learning.

I honestly didn’t expect you to drag your feet on this. 😢
