Tutorials and background material #344
Description
In addition to the API reference material, the package documentation includes short guides to the main functionality of the package. While these demonstrate how to use the key features of the package, there are not currently longer tutorials demonstrating real-world examples nor explanation of the underlying background theory of the algorithms implemented.
It would be useful to add a series of longer-form tutorials to the documentation showing how the package can be applied in real-world spherical data analysis tasks, building on the demonstrations developed with users in the hackathon event (C3). It would also be beneficial to add background material explaining the theory of the transforms implemented in the package and add a guide describing the details of the different supported spherical grids and their properties.
