Is machine required for set up?

Is choosing a machine required in artisan software for the probe temp. reading to work? I can't get my phidgets thermocouple probe to read temp. in artisan. Thanks for any help.

No. Choosing a machine allows a pre-defined set of connection properties to be loaded, which match the settings that the manufacturer

#1 problem with Phidgets not reading data is that you must not have the Phidgets control app open at the same time as Artisan, as it blocks Artisan's access to the device.

Thanks. But even without the Phidgets control panel open I'm not showing a temp reading in artisan.

You need to go to Expert mode (menu Config >> Mode) and then set the device (menu Config >> Devices).

I have chosen Expert mode. Where do you mean in the devices options. I do have the BT curves and LCD boxes checked in the first ET/BT tab. Everything else is under default setting.

Well, 101 debugging says share screenshots of how you have Config >> Devices set up, because as Makomo said, that's where you'll need to have configured settings.
