Media Finally on Api v2.

With X updating Media to v2 finally can you please update the docs to reflect the new calls.

I'm working thru all there calls to tweak and change everything just be easier to have an example.

they are shutting off media 1.1 end of March just so you know.

I tried to work this out myself, and I know I'm not an idiot, but I keep running into 431 errors as response from twitter.
I hope this new API is on your radar and that we can enjoy your expertise in the form a new release before the end of march.

So far I have it kinda working.

1. scope you need to add media.write
2. url needs to change to https://api.x.com
3. I haven't worked on the non chunked yet.
4. For chunked I needed to lower the chunk size a bit to 2 * 1024 * 1024 since the 5 * 1024*1024 was too big and was getting a 431 error.

6. just so you know I'm pulling my file from Aws s3 so I had to stream it so if your path is local just make sure you have fopen part in your code for the file. I will fixed that in my code to make sure both ways work.

So testing a Jpeg it seems to return Finalize just fine. but not MediaStatus I get a 404
Testing with MP4 Finalize returns null and the STATUS endpoint returns 404. even tried in postman to see and get the same thing.

its almost like the media id being returned can't be found or something.

I'm kinda stuck so far at this point and can't get past it.

any other help from someone would be great maybe we can get this fixed for everyone.

This looks nearly Identical to my tests as well
I also tried with CurlFile, and my chunk size (not altered by me) is 250k.

but with out setting the chunk size lower I was getting the 431 error you were getting.

My chunk size is already much lower than 2 MB, it's 0.25 MB.

ok I got it working for video and Images.

One thing though on Images the Status step always fails as images are ready once you send the finalize step I guess.

I did not add this code to my forked version yet but I will get it updated.

I grabbed my bearer token from TwitterOauth like this after setting everything.

Issue I was having and I'm guessing you too with the 404. The append stage was failing. Only way I saw it was this part of the code

Like I mentioned I need to convert all this into my forked version but I at lease got everything back.
Then you would loop of course the status till its ready with the wait check_after_secs

Things I changed to get around errors.

1. Added media.write to scope
2. changed the chunk size to be lower to get around 431 error
3. changed the headers being sent to twitter on different calls.
4. X also didn't need the base64 for the chunk so I removed that.
5. and changed the segmentIndex to add after the call since in php was sending 1 for the first call instead of 0

Then attach the ids to your post as normal.

Hopefully this helps get you in the right direction.

I am interested in the solution to this case, I have tried all the ways and the only thing I receive is the same JSON in all the responses, including on their portal

Your chunks are too small for what you’re uploading. So it’s doing to many calls and have to wait an hour for it to reset.

I haven't been able to get this working at all so far.

The error is always either "Segments do not add up to provided total file size" or "upload segment size must be > 1.bytes"

Should we consider abraham/twitteroauth abandoned at this point?

unfortunately if you look at mine I ended up using the package for the login, then doing curl calls outside this package for now to make it work.
I'm working on updating the package in my forked version but its going to take me a bit since I have a few other things to take care of.

The Errors your getting

1. Segments are not adding up. Your getting an error during upload, so one of the chunks is failing. Or your segment count is off and not starting at 0. I had to do a curl call and capture the error since the package does not capture it.
2. chunk size error. I changed mine since the default is 5 * 1024 * 1024. this is too big. so I changed it to 2 * 1014 * 1024.

The other issue with this package if you look on the home page he put it in maintenance mode and will not implement any new features which this should be an update but not sure it will be updated by the owner anymore and you might need to look at forks to see updates/Fixes quicker.

for other packages out there I did not see any of them updated to v2 yet during this time.

Hopefully this helps but for now if you copy my code above and add it to your controller some place you should be able to get it working. wish the formatting was better above but the board wouldn't format it correctly.

I am now receiving this response when checking status but I don't understand why it gives me such strange errors and what I do is a $response->json() of the response
