georeferencing.org server not working anymore

The default URL for the calculator is http://georeferencing.org/georefcalculator/gc.html , however there no server response when trying to access anything at georeferencing.org . In September 2025 it was working, as this was the last time archive.org has saved the site
Could somebody please try to figure out, what the issue is and fix it? As an alternative the tool could be hosted as a Github Page using this repository, but since there was more content at georeferencing.org that is now inaccessible as well.

@dbloom Do you have an update on restoring georeferencing.org?

In the meantime, anyone who needs to use the calculator can run it without that site by downloading it to your computer from https://github.com/VertNet/georefcalculator/releases/tag/v20201124 and unzipping it. Inside the resulting folder is a file called gc.html. You should be able to double-click on that file to open it in your default browser.

Thanks for the additional information. I was asked by somebody else about it and I just pointed them to the archived version from the Internet Archive as an alternative, since the Javascript still works with that one as well.
