Does the Energy Gauge actually work on new HA installations?

Hi,

I'm looking to install the energy gauge from:

I've followed this guide:

but the first part:

Copy - paste the raw card code from energy_flow.yaml to your a new card on you lovelace dashboard. Add any card and replace the raw code that you can edit by clicking on the SHOW CODE EDITOR in the bottom left.

doesn't seem to work, since no card I can find will support the code in energy_flow.yaml.

When trying to add a manual card, the card needs "type" set and the raw yaml code from energy_flow.yaml can't be used.

I'm relatively new to HA so I might not understand this as I should, but even in that case the instructions should be much clearer for newbies right?

If your wanting a card to show you whats happening for power/energy flows then just look at the SunSynk card, at: https://github.com/slipx06/sunsynk-power-flow-card

If your wanting a dashboard with the look / animations like the Sigenergy portal, have a look at: https://github.com/SpengeSec/Genergy-Dashboard . If your running EMHASS or HAEO then there's a heap of work being done recently to add support for them also.

The Genergy this last week has been updating the code to auto detect and configure if your using https://github.com/TypQxQ/Sigenergy-Local-Modbus, so its fairly easy to setup ;-)

Whats your setup of SIG kit ? This is my setup for a 30T-48 with Gateway.

I could only get the battery part going, nothing like what you have there. The biggest problem, the width of the drop down options, I couldn't see the latter part of the sensors and couldn't adjust the sizing in the browser so was clueless which of the n number of options were related to what was being asked. Put into the too hard basket so gave up.

The other integration, Genergy-Dashboard, worked a treat and was very easy to setup, add an option, do a "detect-all" things get populated. It knew the sig settings it wanted and I only needed to do a small number of things to get a bit more out of it. The below was the result of about 20-30 mins of config, and I really didn't need to know that much about my setup to begin with.

There's a number of SIG sensors that are disabled in the integration by detault, you just need to go into HA and enable them. I usually just update the card by going to the yaml editor mode, instead of the visual editor. Suggest going to yaml mode and copy/paste the example config, apply and see what you get, then go back and edit from there.

Straight forward and I like the last stat there for remaining runtime. Thank you again, that made life a little easier with this card.

Looks like you have Inverter Phase A/B/C (if your 3ph) and Voltage sensors to enable.
Install Solcast for the PV forecast, if you've got 4 strings then add the sensors in for that. All the other house readings are dependant upon having other energy monitoring devices / Shelly's / Athom plugs etc installed.

Do you think it might be worth putting a note in the README / add a link re Dashboards and point people to Genergy Dashboard, that works with your integration (and EMHASS + HAEO) ?
