After updating the Flatpak runtime from GNOME 48 → 49 (as suggested by the EOL warning), I tried building and running the app locally and ran into a couple of issues.

1. Python dependency issue (posthog → six)

During Flatpak build, the process failed with:

No matching distribution found for six>=1.5

This happens because Flatpak builds run in offline mode, and six is not bundled as a dependency for posthog in the manifest. I had to manually add six (via flatpak-pip-generator) and ensure it is built before python3-modules.json.

2. Runtime crash on GNOME 49 (SVG / glycin)

After fixing the build, the app launches but immediately crashes with:

Gdk-ERROR: Resource path ... frog.svg is not a valid image
glycin-svg loader exited early

Key observations:

• The SVG is correctly included in gresource
• Replacing it with a minimal valid SVG still causes the same crash
• This suggests the issue is not with the SVG itself, but with the SVG loader (glycin) in the GNOME 49 Flatpak runtime

• GNOME 48 → 49 migration is not fully smooth
• Requires manual Python dependency fixes (missing six)
• App crashes at runtime due to SVG loading failure in GNOME 49

• This seems like either:

  • a missing dependency in the Flatpak manifest (for glycin loaders), or
  • a runtime-level issue in GNOME 49

It's sad that this appears to have died.

I'm trying the Anura fork v0.1.4 release, not the above deleted v0.1.1 release from D3M-Sudo. Next time, it would probably be better to just post the repo link.

I just downloaded Anura v0.1.4 flatpak, installed it. I'm running openSUSE Tumbleweed Linux, latest snapshot.
Tried to run it. It instantly exits without loading the interface.
Ran it from command line. It comes up, but everything is greyed out. Can't get Preferences, or anything else to respond.
So not useful until further development.
I also don't see a Bug section in the repo to report the bug.
I will uninstall it.

Run the application from your terminal (zsh/bash) using this command and paste the output here:

flatpak run --verbose com.github.d3msudo.anura

This will reveal if there are any missing shared libraries (.so files) or permission denials during startup.

2. Test Software Rendering

To rule out a GPU/driver mismatch (common on rolling releases like Tumbleweed), please try forcing the Cairo software renderer:

flatpak run --env=GSK_RENDERER=cairo com.github.d3msudo.anura

Check if the interface is still "greyed out" or if it becomes responsive.

3. Permissions Check

If you have Flatseal installed, could you verify if the following are enabled for Anura?

• GPU acceleration (under Device)
• Wayland/X11 windowing system (under Socket)

I have uninstalled mine. I've switched to NormCap, it seems to work well.
