Option to automatically delete local folder upon sync removal

Hi,

In the client, when a synchronization is deleted, the local folder that was used for the synchronization is not deleted (which is the intended behavior).

Would it be possible/beneficial to add an option (for example, in the client preferences) to delete the local folder at the same time as the synchronization setting ?

This would prevent users from accidentally reopening/modifying documents in the local folder that is no longer synchronized.

I don’t think it’s a good idea for the client to take the initiative to delete the local folder when a synchronization is removed.
Even with an option, the user might forget that it is enabled and end up having their folder deleted unexpectedly.
I prefer the “safe” approach of letting the user decide what to do with their local folder.

Perhaps another approach involving a 'magic key' could work. For example, in the sync changes window, clicking 'Delete' while holding down the Shift key could bring up the option to 'Confirm deletion with local folder'.

At that point, the folder is moved to the system trash (just in case).

Yes, that sounds like a more appropriate approach to us as well. Offering the option to delete the local folder only as a one-time, explicit action, combined with a clear warning message explaining the consequences, feels much safer and more user-friendly. Moving the folder to the system trash is also a good safeguard.
